Notice of Copyright Information

The Copyright Act protects photographers by giving the author (creator) of the photograph the exclusive right to copy, edit, and distribute image by sale or transfer. This includes the right to control the making of copies.

These exclusive rights make it illegal to copy, scan, edit, or share photographic prints and digital media without the photographer’s permission. Violators of this Federal Law will be subject to its civil and criminal penalties.

With that being said,  we want our clients to understand that we love posting images of the families, babies, brides and couples that come in and use our services for their professional portrait needs. We will do this in one of two ways.

  1. Post to Facebook where we will either ask you to tag yourself or we will tag you
  2. Post to our blog.

The images that we post to Facebook and our Blog are low-res files. They will also have our website address or logo on the file. We ask that you respect the right for us to use our logo on our images and do not crop the logo or website out of the image. Also, because we have had to go to posting low-resolution files on our sites, they really aren’t worth trying to print.

If for some reason, you have purchased the digital files, please give credit to us as your professional photographer. So go ahead, post the image but make sure to include our name and website under the images. We will return the love!

Lastly, if you have purchased the digital files, you have purchased a LIMITED Copyright release. You may only use these images for personal use. If you have purchased a COMMERCIAL Copyright release, the usage of your images will be stated in the contract that we will sign together. We ask that if you have professional head shots done by us and you use them on your website you will give us credit. (Sample statement “Images provided by k. Norwood Portraiture)
