What to Expect during my Maternity Session
Q: What should I expect during my maternity session?
A: We hope that during your maternity session that you will be relaxed and have fun. In order to do that we will schedule a consultation with you in advance of your portrait session and discuss the amount of time that will be necessary for your session and what kind of clothes/props to bring with you to your session. Our goal is to provide you with professional portraits that tell the story of you, your child or your life.
Q: How long will the session last?
A: Normally this depends on what type of session you have commissioned. Maternity sessions are about an hour to an hour and half depending on whether the session is commissioned for outdoors or in the studio.
Q: Where will my session be?
A: Generally the majority of the maternity are done in my home studio but we are available to do on-location sessions also.
Q: When is the best time for my session?
A: That really depends on the client. Many clients prefer to come in after work and we are willing to accommodate some work schedules within reason. If you need a Saturday appointment, we can talk about that in advance. There is a small additional charge for weekend appointments.
Q: What kind of investment do most families make?
A: Most of our clients invest anywhere between $300 and $900, but we know that everyone’s needs are different. Some clients spend a little more and some spend a little less.
Q: What kind of clothes should I bring?
A: Each session will bring a different look so we will definitely talk in advance but here are some general things to think about. Nude bras and panties are a must, black yoga pants and sports bra are also recommended. We will provide wraps and other draping material if you prefer to do a styled type of maternity session.
